Am I The Victim Or The Crime?

Hiding The Truth Again. We Can Count On That.

Taken off of the internet. No informing the media. Making it hard to get the facts about the lack of any connection between Saddam Hussein and al Qaeda. Just more of the stifling of truth in this WOT.

The First Military Casualty In Bush’s “War” On Iran?

March 12th, 2008 by Rocky

Following opinions from the White House the first military casualty of Bush’s threats of World War Three has happened. Admiral William Fallon, the top commander for Iraq and Afghanistan, has resigned. The step down comes just a week after Esquire magazine printed a profile of him saying he opposed the way G.W.Bush is pushing towards war with Iran.

The Admiral has been vocal in the past. Critical of the pentagons policies about Afghanistan and calling for a faster drawdown of troops from Iraq he has come under fire before. His differences with General Petraeus on strategy and deployment have been a thorn in both of their sides.

Esquire article titled “The Man Between War And Peace”, written by Thomas Barnett says,”So while Admiral Fallon’s boss, President George W. Bush, regularly trash-talks his way to World War III and his administration casually casts Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as this century’s Hitler….it’s left to Fallon–and apparently Fallon alone–to argue that, as he told Al Jazeera last fall: “This constant drumbeat of conflict…is not helpful and not useful. I expect that there will be no war, and that is what we ought to be working for. We ought to try to do our utmost to create different conditions”.

Neither our president or Defense Secretary Gates were fond of the article or Fallons outspokeness on what he sees as missteps by our military in this “war on terror”. They pressured him to resign so he did. It seems a shame they wouldn’t listen to him a lot more. If his policies would have been instituted there may be a lot of lives saved. Here’s a story.

Fidel Is Out And We’re Still Not Safe. McCain Says Torture Terrorists.

February 20th, 2008 by Rocky

While there is much speculation on whats gonna happen in Cuba now that Fidel’s little brother has taken over the United States is still not torturing. While Raul’ Castro calls for a more democratic System in Cuba one of our own presidential candidates calls for the CIA to continue torturing suspected terrorists. While the new Castro looks to his people to tell him what they want their government to do our president is being asked by politicians to veto a bill banning them from using water boarding.

After voting against the CIA “fifth degree bill” John McCain defended himself on the campaign trail . He asked Bush to veto the bill he had voted against.

“I knew I would be criticized for it,” McCain said of his vote today, campaigning in Ohio. “I think I can show my record is clear. I said there should be additional techniques allowed to other agencies of government as long as they were not torture’.

George W Bush has said he will veto the bill which bans the CIA from using torture methods to get information from the bad guys. This is typical of the Bush , but with the lowest approval ratings of any president it would seem that a presidential candidate would want to distance himself from such a man. Especially from a man who wants to continue torturous practices while interrogating suspected terrorists.

All this time I thought McCain was against torture. After all, wasn’t he a victim of torture?

The Chicago Tribune has the story.

Campaign Torture

February 16th, 2008 by Rocky

Campaigning must be hard. Long hours, early mornings to late night. Candidates wake early and stay up nights. Tough, kind of like a truck drivers job.

I have driven 14 hours looking forward to a nap at the receiver while they unloaded me only to be told I would have to put my fingerprints on every box while I was the one unloading the trailer. Then when it was unloaded have dispatch send me to a shipper 150 miles away to load before I could get some sleep.

I sympathize with their fatigue and really hope all of them stay somewhat healthy. What I don’t understand is how some pussy pampered politician could compare campaigning with torture.

Check this Huckabee quote out then see if you think he is making light of an illegal torture procedure. What a dweeb!

Ash Wednesday Cleanup

February 6th, 2008 by Rocky

The street sweepers are washing the pavement in the alleys and streets of the French Quarter. New Orleans bar workers are mopping up the funk that comes from days of revelry while the bar owners are counting their riches. Catholic faithful are going to masses to have some ash smeared on their foreheads. Lent is here and in the next 40 days leading up to Easter the city will relax. Almost rest.

But Ash Wednesday in New Orleans is also the day of the Louisiana Primary. There will probably not be as big a cleanup as one might think. The election results from todays primaries and caucuses show McCain is the only candidate that cleaned up in the polls. The Democrats are still pretty much on the same level when it comes to their peoples support.

McCain’s overwhelming win of delegates is due to the “Huckabee Factor”. Mike has taken a lot of the “liberal” Republican vote from Mitt much to Romney’s chagrin. His whining today just alienated more of his would be supporters giving John McCain more of an advantage. That scares me.

With McCain the probable Republican candidate for president America is facing a strange future. His stance on the war in Iraq along with his hinting at future wars, Iran probably, could make or break him. Especially if his Democratic opposition remains weak on their demands to withdraw our troops from Iraq. If the Democrats can’t show strong we may be facing Johns proposed 100 years there.

New Orleans, and much of Louisiana, has a large black Democrat population. The strength of the black vote became clear in 1992 when Democrat Edwin Edwards, a known criminal and liar, was running against Republican racist David Duke for Governor. More black people registered and voted than any time in Louisiana history. The crook won in a landslide even though the Republican Duke got a huge turnout of white voters.

Obama and Clinton are running neck and neck. Clinton has only 100 more delegates then Obama. The primaries in the weeks to come can change that. There are more delegates yet to be chosen and Barak may overcome Hillary in the polls. With only 56 delegates at stake there Louisiana wont be a deciding factor in the final outcome but will probably bring the race closer. I think Obama will take the state today.

The really surprising state for Obama was Idaho. Such a huge amount of their votes going to him there shows me the race card is fading in this campaign. When I was a kid growing up in Idaho there was an underlying racism that welcomed many white supremacy groupsĀ  to build compounds and enclaves all over the state. I was pleased to see that the old days are going away and people are starting to think clearer.

So as the post Carnival cleanup continues in The Big Easy the cleanup in the polls wont come. The democratic candidates will have to really duke it out. Lets hope the mudslinging doesn’t start too bad. Thats a mess that may cause McCain to clean up in November.

We can’t have that.

Bush Is Waking Up…Naw…Just Facing Reality.

February 1st, 2008 by Rocky

With 17,000 jobs lost in January Georgie is waking up to the fact that the economy is worse than he talks about. The stimulus package he is touting will only be a drop in the bucket for what is needed. If Americans spend the money they will receive on American made goods it may be a good thing. If they spend it on electronics or other products made in foreign places it won’t be worth a thing for the economy.

Maybe if we bring our troops home and quit spending so much in Iraq the economy could heal quicker.

Bush spewed the rhetoric his handlers told him to. Story here.
