Am I The Victim Or The Crime?

Misogyny, Racism And Threats On One Candidates Life

July 7th, 2008 by Rocky

Been kinda confused lately. A few days ago I heard some crap spewing from a mans mouth that made me cringe. I haven’t talked about it much because I don’t want any crap from the federal cops if they happened to overhear it and want more information. You probably know by now that I really avoid talking to cops because they make me uncomfortable and make me feel like a criminal even when I have done nothing wrong. But hell…the cops don’t read blogs so I’ll write about it here. Besides with todays announcement of Obama’s plans to accept his nomination at the Invesco Field at the Mile High Stadium complex it may be easier for him to carry out his babbling.

Some of you have read here about my frequent late night/early morning trips to the local Dennys when I can’t sleep and don’t want to disturb my hard working room mate. You may have seen the stuff I wrote about racism here in Roswell and how the conversations often turn to politics. How even the brown skinned people call Obama a nigger while they sit devouring greasy food and slurping the weak brew they call coffee. How some of the folks aren’t necessarily McCain fans but will vote for him over Barack based on skin color alone. Today I want to talk about just one of those Dennys regulars and how he is one of the most backwards woman hating racists I have encountered since I moved from Calhoun City, Mississippi in 1977.

Steve is a Viet Nam era Marine vet. One of those who believe no one is a true American unless they have been a member of a branch of the military. One who was so twisted by his Nam experience he still tells tales of the war in graphic detail. He plasters all of his vehicles with Marine Corps emblems and almost never ventures out unless he is wearing a shirt or hat emblazoned with some Marine logo or slogan. So gung ho that he judges everyone as un-American if they don’t blindly support Bush and his war in Iraq.

In my humble opinion he is a first class asshole. Not just because he is blindly a Semper Fi war supporter but because he also treats all women as beneath him and people of color as servants. A person who feels that his service to the USA entitles him to be rude and mean to anyone he wants to. Especially females with Mexican heratige.

While sitting at the counter a few days ago I watched a new waitress being broken in. Her first night at Dennys was becoming frustrating. The cook and a couple of the regulars were being helpful and showing her stuff she became confused about. Pricilla is a young Hispanic woman who was doing a good job of keeping up with her customers but was at a loss of how to use the computerised cash register.

While re entering one tables bill into the register she pressed the wrong button or something and had to call the cook to cash them out. another couple was waiting at the register when Steve the Moron…I mean Marine… came in. She stayed at the register learning what her mistakes were and taking care of the customers who were leaving. Steve didn’t get his coffee immediately and started talking loudly about how “Spic women aren’t worth a shit for anything. They can’t even be trained to serve coffee.” (his words, not mine)Naturally she became flustered.

To keep his mouth shut and not offend her more I went around the counter and got his coffee. Spilling some around the cup on purpose to piss his neat freak self off I tossed his creamers towards him.

“I’m not hispanic or a woman.” I said. “I can’t be trained either.”

He thought I was joking and laughed. Then after he sopped up the spilled coffee he picked up the paper and ignored me, thankfully. He mentioned an article about Obama to the guy sitting next to him. The other man said some crap about sending Barack “back to Africa” and asked me why anyone would consider voting for a nigger. Steve was salivating waiting for my response and since it wasn’t Steve asking I responded. (I learned long ago that ignoring Steve’s outbursts was the wise way to go) I responded with “Maybe it’s because Americans are tired of losing their kids to this war based on lies and want to see a positive change. McCain is just more of the same old bullshit and everyone is tired of the road the administration is dragging the natoin down.”

Steve got enraged. He started babbling about how he would rather see a woman in there than a black man and how somebody should shoot him to get McCain in. then he laid out a shocker.

“If he gets elected I will shoot him myself.”, Steve said. Crowing about how the Marines had trained hm to kill and his sharpshooting skills he began to expound how he wouldn’t feel like an American unless he killed Obama. As he got louder and more worked up he swore to all who would listen that he was a “nigger killer” and promised us he would be the one who took Obama out.

Personally I think he is serious.

Somebody official needs to take Steve out in my humble opinion.

The Steves of the world are the ones who are un-American. They are the ones who are keeping us from progress and peace. His service was years ago and I think he needs to come home from the jungle and start living the freedom he believes he fought for.

So…It’s Obama. And Hillary?

June 3rd, 2008 by Rocky

With Barack Obama taking it with the close vote and the superdelegates tha real race is on.

Hillary has said she is open to the VEEP seat.

Wonder if that has anything to do with her Bobby Kennedy comments last week.

Is she hoping for an assasination so she will be the first president without a penis?

I’m hoping the brown guy with the big ears taps the brown guy with the experience.

Bill Richardson would make a great Vice President.

Goodbye Hillary

June 3rd, 2008 by Rocky

It is with much anticipation I wait for her speech tonight.

Thanks for running. You fought a great fight…for a good ol’ boy.

Now for Obama to soundly defeat McCain.

First they say she’s quitting.

Then they say she’s not.
Step back bitch and let the real race begin. Or are you just working for McCain now?

If You Are Still Confused…Ask The Super Delegates

June 2nd, 2008 by Rocky

With the mainstream news saying that neither Democratic presidential candidate can get enough delegates in the last 2 primary states the fun is now beginning. They are also saying that Obama will get more of the super delegates than Clinton so he will probably get the Demo nomination.. I am looking forward to an Obama/McCain race to the White House.

Hillary has done a lot in this campaign. As the first woman to run for the office she shattered a lot of records. Pushing so many of the male good ol’ boys aside she has drawn a huge amount of support and votes.  But I guess the fact she is just another good ol’ boy, with a vagina, pushing the same ol’ good ol’ boy agenda, has been her downfall. People really want change and believe a newer face in politics would be the best way to find that change.

Hillary Clinton is a true pioneer but I don’t think Americans are very open to a woman leader.  What they don’t realize is that it has always been the woman behind the scenes that seem to guide the men when good things happen. …this world wouldn’t be nothin’ without a woman or a girl.

Listen as Warren Haynes talks about todays politics in his version of an old James Browns classic.

“This Is A Mans World.”

West Virginia & Six More Weeks Of Racism

May 14th, 2008 by Rocky

With Clintons big win yesterday in West Virginia we were guaranteed another 6 weeks of her attacking Obama. Six more weeks of her puffing and huffing about Iran, Iraq and Rev Wright. Another month and a half of her claiming her first ladyship as “experience”. More of seeing her age drastically on camera. More of the same good ol’ boy bullshit. More of the crap that seems to give McCain another bit of leverage. Six more weeks of the race card.
Watching the news this morning I saw a scroll at the bottom of the screen that said only 49% of W.VA.s white voters would support Barack if he wins the nomination for the Demo’s. I guess thats to be expected though. A lot of the racist sentiment holds to the theory of “better a white woman than a black man”. That attitude was obvious at the polls yesterday and sadly it seems to be all over, not just in the southern states.

I have heard that sentiment at the local Dennys where I sometimes drink coffee in the early morning. The race is a big talking issue with the regular morning crowd there. I was surprised to hear that attitude from just about every one there this morning. I expected it from some there but the youthful hispanic crowd that gathers there every morning was spewing it too.

Being a semi-regular there I have been accepted by all of the regulars and am included in any conversation I choose to join. I think my surprise was greater when a dark brown young man of Mexican heritage started using that old “N” word about Obama.  The old white men who sit at the counter are the ones who usually spew that crap but this time the younger folks were chiming in and joining the old “Christian’s” with their message of hatred. (the ones I call “christians” claim to be. I am not placing labels they didn’t hang on themselves) I was amazed the bigotry crossed all age and race lines of the patrons.

Being a quiet and still unsure supporter of the Obama campaign I didn’t say anything about the presidential race. I did however voice my displeasure of the comments coming from the people I have grown to know there over the past 2 years. Things got quiet for a while then I was called a “nigger lover” and most laughed. I felt angry and for a minute I knew some of the stuff Barack grew up with. While I will never know the problems dark skinned people live with everyday I saw a bit of it today. I just can’t understand it. How do people whose skin is darker than Obama’s call him a “nigger”? How do the people of this land keep pushing the bigotry generation after generation?

And how does the color of a persons skin effect how he or she would lead our nation?

Republicans Abandoning Ship. are the little rats fleeing the sinking party or just John McSame?

April 2nd, 2008 by Rocky

They have been turning out in droves. Registrars in Pennsylvania and Oregon have their hands full. The Republicans are flocking to change their party affiliation before the primaries. They don’t have anything to lose but freedom and security so they are abandoning the “Grand Ole Party”. They seem to be waking up.

Maybe it’s because of their discontent with the way the government has been going. Maybe it’s because they see the path we are going down isn’t leading anywhere good and they know their parties candidate is going to be more of the same. Maybe they just feel that Clinton or Obama could do better than John would and they want something better than he can offer. Maybe they are just acting smart for a change.

In Virginia and Missouri Obama won big because of the Repube vote. Texas and Ohio Repube’s gave the Clinton and Obama campaigns a huge boost. Those places have shown that no one is satisfied with the things going on in Washington and are seeking to change it. And change seems to be the common goal.

They have been running a lot of McCain for president ads on teevee here in New Mexico. We are supposedly a “swing state”. It seems that the pundits are right about him. He seems, through this ad, to be comparing America now with America of Viet Nam times. The ad they are running this week has a lot of footage of him after he was brought to some hospital after his captivity in that war. It almost seems like he wants pity for the prison time he served. The message I get from it is that he seeks revenge on his captors so much he can’t tell the difference between the Vietnamese and the Iraqi’s.

His call for occupation of Iraq for 50 years has been overshadowed by his carefree quip about 100.

“Make it 100.” he said when questioned about his support for an extended occupation.

“We’ve been in South Korea … we’ve been in Japan for 60 years,” he continued. “We’ve been in South Korea for 50 years or so. That would be fine with me. As long as Americans are not being injured or harmed or wounded or killed, that’s fine with me. I hope that would be fine with you, if we maintain a presence in a very volatile part of the world where Al Qaeda is training, recruiting and equipping and motivating people every single day.”

That is just disgusting. Americans ARE being injured, harmed or killed everyday in Iraq so there is no reasoning to this statement.

Maybe this one statement of doddering senility has gotten the Repube populace thinking. McSame is driving them away in a way Bush only dreams about. The thinking people see what disaster lies ahead with him running the great ship America. They are more interested in saving our country than some other place. They know we can’t save the world if we can’t save ourselves. They know the way things are going we are actually destroying ourselves. They want change.

In this race the Republicans can’t count on the conservative evangelical vote. This isn’t a race based on abortion or whatever one issue subject they choose to vote on. This race affects them the same way it does Democrats and “liberals”. Their kids are dying in Iraq the same way those on the left’s kids are. They are tired of being lied to by those they trusted 4 and 8 years ago. Their homes have also been foreclosed on. Their jobs have been shipped out of the country too.  Their phones and internet are at risk of being invaded just like the liberals. Their rights are being trampled along with everyone else’s. Only the hardcore are waiting for Bush and McCain to speed up their “rapture” and the end of the world.

I have become an Obama supporter over the last few weeks. I think Clinton brought some good things to the table but she also brought her bucket of mud and has been slinging it much to my dismay. Bill Richardson has endorsed Barack so there is my big turning point. Richardson is the experience and knowlege Obama needs to bring on board so thats my humble endorsement.

I won’t make this page a campaign for any candidate until after the Democratic National Convention and then I will only do what I can to defeat the Republicans and their drive to bring us back to the stone age. Until then I have to depend on the conservatives who are running frantically away from their own party. For whatever reason they are running. plf_obamaposter-2008.jpg

The members of the Grateful Dead also endorsed him by playing a benefit for him so Thats an added bonus as far as I’m concerned.

Will Bill Return To The Campaign? (my glowing endorsement)

February 23rd, 2008 by Rocky

After showing his ass before the Iowa and New Hampshire votes were cast President Bill Clinton quietened down for a bit. He has been appearing in public more lately after a brief hiatus. It seems he is becoming visible again in a much more subdued form. The dutiful husband form. The under the thumb form. The FORMER president form.

But the real Bill story is coming from Santa Fe it seems. The democratic front runners are courting the man who dropped from the race January 10. The man who can help them win. The one person who has the right experience in foreign relations. New Mexico’s Governor Bill Richardson.

Bill Richardson’s record on a local, national and international level is tremendous. He worked in the Bill Clinton administration as an Ambassador to the U.N. as well as 14 years as congressman. He was our Secretary of Energy under Clinton. While serving our country he visited many countries around the world promoting good relations with “troublesome” leaders. He did such a good job in the old days with leaders like Saddam Hussein that George W Bush sent him to North Korea last year to deal with Kim Jong il and the nuclear crisis. He came away with success. N. Korea agreed to stop producing weapons and invited the U N to send in inspectors.

In New Mexico he pushed for a medical marijuana law that was shot down 6 times before it passed on the 7th try. Although the Feds are giving growers and patients grief he is pushing for less federal involvement on the laws of our nation. Maybe if he had a position high in the federal government the D.E.A. and other cops would start leaving individuals alone. When asked how the MMJ laws would affect his presidential campaign he said it didn’t matter as “it was the right thing to do”.
He has made law here that gives incentives to homeowners and businesses that go with alternative energy to power their electrical needs. Passed bills requiring the big power companies to use solar or wind for a growing percentage of their output.

He has demanded an end to the US occupation of Iraq. The return of our troops from the face of danger is a high priority in his political opinion. With 3970 American soldiers killed there so far he strongly supports the troops by calling for their rapid return.

President Clinton watched the Super Bowl with the Governor a few weeks ago. Mrs. Clinton stays in close touch with him. Barack Obama calls him often, on the average of every 3 days. They both have told him that they need him. His endorsement would swing so many votes their way and they both know his support would make the candidacy, and the election, theirs.

Richardson has said he is not going to put the offer of possibly being a Vice Presidential running mate or a Secretary of State appointment aside. He is staying in touch with both Obama and Clinton during their campaigns and is remaining friendly and non-controversial. No endorsements yet and thats probably a good thing.

If he were to become the VP nominee for either he would bring a lot to their campaign. Obama’s campaign would benefit from the experience and maturity he would bring. Clinton’s organization would be better off with his diplomatic attitude diverting the publics attention from the silly stuff her husband spews. The nation would be much better off with him as our Vice President what with his “progressive” ideas and policies. As Secretary of State he would be an asset to help heal the broken and bruised image of America the rest of the world has.

So with these thoughts, and others, in mind I am now going to make the Alien Trucker’s endorsement in this presidential race. I am saying, on the record, I am endorsing whoever Bill Richardson endorses. Especially if he is chosen as their running mate.

Does it really matter who I support? I don’t guess so but at least you know how I feel.

Campaign Torture

February 16th, 2008 by Rocky

Campaigning must be hard. Long hours, early mornings to late night. Candidates wake early and stay up nights. Tough, kind of like a truck drivers job.

I have driven 14 hours looking forward to a nap at the receiver while they unloaded me only to be told I would have to put my fingerprints on every box while I was the one unloading the trailer. Then when it was unloaded have dispatch send me to a shipper 150 miles away to load before I could get some sleep.

I sympathize with their fatigue and really hope all of them stay somewhat healthy. What I don’t understand is how some pussy pampered politician could compare campaigning with torture.

Check this Huckabee quote out then see if you think he is making light of an illegal torture procedure. What a dweeb!

John Mellencamp Asks McCain To Stop Playing His Music

February 8th, 2008 by Rocky

Singer John Mellencamp asked the McCain campaign to stop playing his music at rallies. The songs “Pink Houses” and “Our Country” have been heard at the rallies lately according to Rolling Stone.

Especially since he has been using those songs at John Edwards rallies like this time in Des Moines, IA January 2, 2008.

Or this one ate same rally.

Tomorrow Is A Super Day

February 4th, 2008 by Rocky

With a reported 52% of the votes over McCains 21% in the caucuses in Main this weekend It seems the Republican voters are flip flopping from state to state. One bunch says that McCain would be better. Then Romney says some soothing crap and the next state overwhelmingly votes for him. Ron Paul did almost as well as John in Maine with 19%of the vote going his way. Even Thompson, who dropped out of the race last month, brought in 4% of the votes.

With Super Tuesday coming tomorrow analysts are busy making predictions. According to Time Magazine Saturday, Fred Thompson is expected to do well in Tennesse.

On the Democratic side Hillary Clinton is expected to do well in the southern states as well.  After all, the rednecks there see no value in a black man. How can an inferior being lead our country? At Denny’s the other morning a traveler from Alabama told me he would rather see a woman in there than a Negro. After living in the southland for so many years I know the “liberal” voters have those feelings and I think we will see that trend among the white voters there.

New Mexico, like Idaho and Kansas will hold Democrat only caucuses tomorrow.  Racism will be a big factor here as well I think. The Hispanic population in New Mexico is pretty conservative and on a large scale believe the idea of a black president is not as appealing as a woman. Besides if her husband watches the Super Bowl with our Hispanic governor I guess she can’t be all that bad. I think the race card will be a major factor in all of the states tomorrow.

With Republicans like Susan Eisenhower, Dwight’s granddaughter,  and (reportedly Republican) Bob Wier of the Grateful Dead joining the voice for Obama, conservative Democrats may actually be influenced. The stoner crowd may even get out to vote because the rest of the band endorses Barack. Maybe the racists will be outnumbered by those who choose to vote by other outside influences like endorsements.

I am not sure who I would vote for tomorrow if I could. (I’m not a registered Dem.)  I have very mixed feelings about both Hillary and Obama. With Richardson and Kucinich out I don’t have a favorite. They both have the same strong feelings about the war in Iraq. I have seen nothing but continuing support of the occupation (at least for the next 4 years) from both of the Democratic frontrunners.

This is a single issue race for me for the most part. My draft age son doesn’t believe in this war and I feel that if the conflict continues and escalates the draft is imminent. I don’t want my son to be among those who are fighting if he doesn’t believe in the cause. I don’t want anyones child to be forced into service for such flawed reasons as the ones that led us into this war and occupation. Or the war McCain wants to start with Iran.

If your state is holding Super Tuesday elections tomorrow please get out and vote. Your voice can make a difference this time.

You may even see a super hero at the polls.

Grateful Dead Playing For Obama

February 2nd, 2008 by Rocky

Reports have it that The Boys are coming together Monday to play a show for Obama. Wish I could be in The City to see this historic event.

When Jerry was alive They never made any political endorsements. If they had endorsed Kerry last time maybe they could have convinced the Deadheads to get up off of their stoned asses and vote, making things verrrrry different.
Monkeyfister has the story.

Bill, Bill and the Super Bowl. or Vice President Richardson?

February 2nd, 2008 by Rocky

The Clintons are in New Mexico for Super Bowl Sunday. Governor Bill Richardson is making sure his old boss President Bill Clinton enjoys the game. I’m sure all of the Presidents favorite football foods will be spread. Big cushy chairs for the Bill’s to hang out in. Big widescreen teevee with Hi Def. A few political buddies that also like the big game. All in all a good time for all.

Richardson says this is in no way to be mistaken as an endorsement for Hillary. He wants it to be a fun occasion with his old friend. Just hangin’ with the good ol’ boys, downin’ a few frosty beverages, chompin’ chips and shootin’ the breeze. Just like any other Super Bowl party in any other New Mexico home. It is after all Super Bowl Sunday. Not Super Tuesday.

Can this be the door opening to Ms. Clinton naming Richardson as her running mate? Maybe a post Super Tuesday endorsement? Or am I reading too much into it? Hoping that the most qualified candidate gets an important job if Hillary wins. Hoping against hope that Bill Richardson will be our next V.P..

I could live with that.
New Mexico FBIHOP has a story and links.
