No. This time it isn’t a hurricane. Not any natural disaster has or can bring the long lasting destruction that off shore oil drilling has already brought. Bush wants even more.
I remember when the coast of Mississippi was brilliant white sand. By the end of the ’80’s it was brown and dirty. They said it was from the waste and run off from the wells off of the coast. The fishing industry has been messed up. Boating isn’t as fun anymore as the water is dirty and oily.
Bush announced today that he is lifting bans on off shore drilling and hopes Congress approves it.
Nancy Pelosi calls it a election year hoax.
John McCain supports it. Same Ol’ Bushit for him.
Obama’s campaign opposes it because it wouldn’t give any short term relief at the pumps.
In this election year I have been wondering how to cast my vote. Not totally on board with Obama I am searching for a reason to support a candidate. I found this little ad that makes me rethink everything I have said so far. Take a look and see if it can help convince you to vote Republican as well.
I have been absent for a while now. Just posting videos and generally farting off. Computer problems, 50th birthday depression and the bad news from my doctors have kept me from posting for a couple of weeks. For my regular readers this may have seemed unexcusable and I am sorry. For those of you who have visited and seen nothing new I have no real excuse. Depressing news has killed my desire to do much of anything. But I will try not to be quite so neglectful now that I have come to grips with all of the crap that is going on with me. I will probably have another few day absence shortly but you wont want to read the post surgery drug addled crap I would write then anyway.
On May 5 I posted the Moveon.org ad that has been running in this part of New Mexico lately. I got one comment that questioned my intelligence. I know I am not the smartest guy on the blog worlds network but it kinda made me sit back and think of what John McSameoldBushit said that day when he threatened to keep our troops in Iraq for a hundred or a thousand years “as long as Americans are not being injured or harmed or wounded or killed.” Comparing the occupation to our presence in S.Korea he made promises that we would protect Iraq’s oil. At the same time he was esentially comparing the Iraqi defenders with the sheep of Korea.
Iraq and South Korea are two different places. Their cultures are totally different. Their religious zealots have completely different agendas. Our presence in their countries started with completely different ideals. The S.Koreans seem to appreciate our troops being there while most Iraqi citizens see us as an evil occupier. Even the puppet regimes that the U.S. instals have different directions. In Korea our soldiers are keeping the “evil Commies” up in the north. In Iraq the neighboring countries are “friends” of Iraq and are even working together with some Iraq troops to drive us out.
Americans are being killed, injured, wounded and otherwise harmed. They will always be the enemy of the Iraqi people by bringing the western culture that the South Korean people embrace. So no matter how long the United States keep the troops in Iraq they will always be in harms way. More so than they are in Korea.
John McCain is a fool and no matter how undereducated or ignorant I may be I can see through the crap he spews. As long as our men and women are occupying Iraq they will always be under attack. McCain is just looking out for the interests of the big money war machine.
George McBush and Robert Gates have put together a plan to continue their “success” in the Middle East. Georgie has nominated General Petraeus for the position of commander of the American troops in the Middle East, replacing General Fallon who resigned in disgust just last month. I guess he wanted a man who will do his bidding without question, no matter the consequences. Petraeus is just that guy.
As we were reminded a couple of weeks ago the General sees things through rose colored glasses. Harry Ried has said the General will face tiugh questioning before his appointment. The Washington Post report.
Sometimes I get bored with the stuff that the internets and teevee has to offer. I mean, just how much war and poverty can I stand? A good book is sometimes just what I need. After reading the book I did yesterday I think I still need a good book. This one was far from good but I did laugh. After I smoked a bowl or two of the weed. (thats the only way i could wrap my mind around the stuff he was trying so hard to explain to me)
My room mate Cat works at the International UFO Museum And Research Center here in Roswell. One of the perks is she can bring home books from their library. They have a massive library and document center that rivals most if not all of the UFO reasearch libraries in the world. The have it even if the book has no foundation or basis. Conspiracy theorists abound and the book I read is by one of these people. Ronnie McCullen will be here for the UFO Festival in July and although I want to see him I can’t promise I wont laugh in his face. The festival centers around the crash of July 4, 1947 and much of the event revolves around the museum.
The book I endured for a while yesterday is called “Sold Out Warning Has Our Government Sold It’s Soul For Technology?” Ronnie McMullen is an old fashioned King James Version bible thumper who believes in aliens, abductions and how the Illuminati and our government is involved with these same aliens.
Before I go any further I want to state that I am not so arrogant to believe earthlings are the only “intelligent” life forms in our universe. I have seen lights in the night sky doing strange things while driving across the open expanses of nothingness in the western states here. I don’t know what kind of aircraft would do the stuff these lights did but they were probably earth based. They are still unidentified flying objects to me but I had no encounters with them. Probably just planes and atmospheric stuff making illusion.
Or aliens. I really don’t care.
Ronnie, however, does care. The book went on about the serpent who tempted Eve in the Garden Of Eden. How he was one of the lizard people, who are actually demons, giving her the chance to be godlike with the knowledge she would acquire if she ate the fruit. A temptation she yielded to according to the story.
Using scriptures from his bible, old American Indian lore and the advancement of technology he has come up with a theory of how the leaders of the world are in cahoots with the aliens/demons who live in underground bunkers and tunnels that are honeycombed around the world. He believes the flying discs and aliens come from Hell under us and not from other planets or anywhere else in space. His theory is that these are the angels who were cast out of Heaven with the angel Lucifer. Their mission is to take over and keep this earth for themselves. Not allowing god in Heaven to have anymore say in our lives.
Using scripture he showed how the “purity” of Jesus’ blood was not messed with like the other tribes of the world were. The family of Christ never had sex with the lizards from Adam and Eve on. How that purity is important as well as our purity is. He implores us not to have sex with the lizard/serpent/aliens so we can be saved when the demons take over.
His main thesis was that the world leaders have traded their/our souls to these demons for technology. Technology gives them godlike power and the demons get us in the end. Being raised by a fundamentalist preacher and studying Christian theology for years I knew the scriptures he quoted. Living in Roswell I have heard a lot of theories about this subject. I guess its just natural for Christians to think that everything in our world has to revolve around their seperatist/hateful religion. Even aliens can’t catch a break from them. The old religious attitude of “If I don’t understand it it must be evil and ungodly” prevails.
I don’t recommend you rush to buy this inane piece of drivel. However, if your local library has a copy or you run across one in a thrift store for a buck or less then pick it up and get a few laughs. It is less than 200 pages long and is an easy read. Written on a grade school level so even our undereducated masses can understand he gets his message across well. I know it was easier for me to comprehend after I got stoned.
I think the underlying message is that if the government would spend less time making deals with the lizard people and more time worrying about our kids’ education we wouldn’t have to endure the crappy theories this mans book spews.
The warmongers talked about success yesterday whan they testified before the senate. Success here, good progress there. Here success, there success, everywhere success. The good news just flowed. McSameoldbushit praised them. Graham the Cracker almost licked their asses. Lieberman had to choke back tears while he praised the success. Even Clinton and Obama smooched their pickles thanking them for the extreme sacrifices they give in the heavily protected comparative luxury they have in the “Green Zone”. (compared to the soldiers they send into the conflict to fight, kill and die) Then I came across this in this afternoon’s news.

While the American people sacrifice all. The lives of their children, their homes and dwindling bankbooks. Their jobs being increasingly outsourced to foreign lands. Huge costs for healthcare. Massive national debt that our childrens childrens children will be paying for the financial cost of the war in Iraq. Now everything we buy will be going up in price again because of the success in Iraq. SUCCESS!!!
With rising oil costs the price at the pump will skyrocket. The cost of shipping goes up so even the price of groceries rise. You have probably heard the old saying, “If you’ve got it a truck brought it”. That means the higher cost of fuel to run those trucks will be brought up by passing the increase on to you and me in the store. SUCCESS!!!
With gasoline expected to hit over $4 a gallon by June or July your family may not get that vacation they so badly need. SUCCESS!!! Hell, maybe Mom and Dad wont even be able to get to work and still feed and clothe their families. SUCCESS!!! The families weekly movie night will be cut back to once a month or less because the cost of going to Blockbuster is more than the cost of the rental and the popcorn. SUCCESS!!! The list of sacrifices by Americans goes on and on.
The only success I can see is for the already rich oil families like the bin Ladens and the Bushes.
The travesty of this war in Iraq hit the senate floor as well as the news and blog world yesterday. I stumbled with my words and gave my opinion a bit in yesterdays posts. I was just one of many bloggers who had views about this whole thing. Many are more well spoken or have a higher sense of indignity than I. Todays post here includes video of highlights of the crazy shit that was said during testimony from Petraeus and Crocker. It also includes links to other bloggers who said things in words that I could never come close to. Their posts went from the crude truths to eloquence. I think each of the links I am posting have valuable messages and highly recommend you take the time to check each out.
Now while I am posting this youtube seems to be overwhelmed and I cant get any more of the video’s to load. I guess it must be time for me to take a nap and the internets know this and are dictating my sleep cycle. Check this stuff out, come to your own conclusion and let us know what you think.

With 17,000 jobs lost in January Georgie is waking up to the fact that the economy is worse than he talks about. The stimulus package he is touting will only be a drop in the bucket for what is needed. If Americans spend the money they will receive on American made goods it may be a good thing. If they spend it on electronics or other products made in foreign places it won’t be worth a thing for the economy.
Maybe if we bring our troops home and quit spending so much in Iraq the economy could heal quicker.

Yeah. I know. They are a big corporation that only cares about the bottom line. I know I am just a disabled working guy that doesn’t have any pull. I know that the relationship with big companies and the Average Joe usually ends up with the corporation winning but today I am furious. Here’s why.
I had been getting horrible service since August of 2007. I called the service department of Dish Network because the DVR kept displaying that it had a critical hard drive malfunction and needed service. They promised they would send a box for me to return it and they would replace it. Never happened.
On November 21 of 2007 I switched my service to a local cable company for better reliability, phone and internet service. When I called Dish Network to have my service discontinued they told me they would send a box to return my equipment in. They also told me I would owe them $40 for breaking my 18 month contract early. Cool. That was something I knew about and had even signed paperwork saying that I agreed to do. I didn’t mind.
I never received communication from them after that. No box. No bills. No deduction of the $40. Nothing.
I called them just before the Christmas holiday season wondering about the box. They told me that no box had been sent because the call on Nov. 21 had been disconnected and that I should have called them back right away. They indicated this was my fault and should know about it. I was then promised a box again and was told that I would be responsible only for the $40 as their mistake would be rewarded by me not having to pay for services they had provided from October to November. Cool again. No box.
On January 8 I noticed they were hitting my bank accounts debit card that was on file for $2, $48, $2, $9.50….. I called them again. They promised a box would be sent again. Still no box.
They continued hitting my card for amounts ranging from $2 to $157. three or four charges a day. I called again. Over and over I have called. They said the charges were for equipment rental for the reciever I hadn’t returned.
I said no box. They have agreed to send the box every time I called. Still no box.
The last time I called I offered to send the equipment at my shipping expense. They told me that this wasn’t possible. I had to have the proper numbers for their records. I asked the guy to give me the numbers and was told that they were only issued with the box and label they would send me. But they aren’t sending a box so what the fuck!!!
Today I received my Social Security payment directly deposited into my account. Yes. the check I rely on to pay my rent, utilities and phone. But….But…But…you are right. Dish Network had already taken it all plus I am over drawn $3.54.
Rent can’t be paid. Phone and electric may get shut off. No groceries will be bought. My medicine will have to be put on hold. My life has been shut down.
Dish Networks representatives have repeatedly told me that it is my fault. I haven’t sent them the equipment so it is out of their hands. The only way it is my fault that I can see is that I signed on with them in the first place.
This morning I told my room mate Cat about this. She Googled “Dish Network Complaints”. She didn’t expect that it would return 238,000 hits under this search. I guess this blog will be 238,001.
9/11 Giuliani has been running on the bombings that happened in NYC while he was mayor. If it hadn’t been for that tragic attack Rudy would be a has been mayor and may be under indictment for some of the things done by people he associated with. He hasn’t really been a viable presidential candidate but support has been even less than what he expected.
The right wing has never been fond of him because of his views on immigration and his fondness of dressing as a woman. The left think he has just been a bad leader and don’t think he can run a country if he had so many problems running a city. Both sides of the fence realize he has no substance and is riding the wave of fame that came from 9/11.
Now it seems he is even selling classic cars on E Bay to finance his campaign. He is going broke indicated by his staff not taking paychecks and support down. His 1966 Corvair convertable is for sale.
720 million dollars a day is being spent on this stupid war. I found this cool site on Drinking Liberally that you can add your voice to a petition to bring our soldiers home by cutting the spending and deployment of our troops. Follow this link.
George W and Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke are trying to buy the favor of the American people it seems. They call it stimulating the economy through tax breaks, extending unemployment benefits and increasing benefits to welfare recipients. They figure dumping 100 billion back into the economy will keep us out of a recession. Maybe so but I think its just another ploy to gain favor for Republicans in the upcoming elections. Story link.
