My name is Rocky. I was born in the Rock Hudson heyday and even though mom wont admit it my name was influenced by her adoration of him. I was born in Colorado in the late ’50’s and grew up there for my first 11 years. My preacher daddy started moving to pastor small churches and this led me to live in Nebraska, California, Washington, Idaho Mississippi,Tennessee,Arkansas and Louisiana before I started my adult life. After reaching “maturity” I moved around a lot myself.
After touring with the Grateful Dead for a few years I found a job that would sustain my life. The perfect career for those of us with a wandering spirit is truck driving and thats the path I followed. After driving hundreds of thousands of miles that old Johnny Cash hit “I’ve Been Everywhere” is very much my life.
After an accident in 2000 I have been disabled and have settled in Roswell, NM. Sometimes I like the small town life but Roswell’s UFO tourism keeps me in touch with people from all over. I still love to travel but am limited now so the internet has provided me with a way to get out there.
Driving gave me a lot of time to be introspective and figure out my feelings about society as a whole in our time and I now have a forum in which to share those thoughts and emotions.
My political views don’t lean very far right and my ideas on social issues don’t follow the mainstream sitcom world view paths. I have strong opinions and at times don’t want to listen to others views. I have learned to struggle through listening and even though I may not agree with you I would like your input so feel free to comment on any of my posts.
